The Recruitment Chair
Hey y'all!! My name is Morgan Bundy and I have the privilege of serving as the 2024 Chi Omega Recruitment Chair. I was born and raised right here in Pike County in a little town outside of Troy called Banks. Most of my friends lived in Troy, I went to school from pre-k to graduation in Troy, and now I attend Troy University! In high school, we would we come hang out at Troy's campus! And, my mom even works here! To say the least, this city means so much to me because I have spent my whole life here. After I graduated high school my main thought process was, "I need to get out"! Since I was so familiar with Troy I was worried I wouldn't get the "college feeling". Now that I am a senior here, I can definitely say there was no reason to worry! Once you become a student on campus, it's a whole new experience! Yes, I still see people I've known my whole life. Yes, I drive by my high school most days. Yes, I still live at home (to save that money girl). Yes, I absolutely wouldn't trade it for the world! Being in my hometown, I am able to see my parents everyday, see my high school friends that stayed home, go to my home church, and watch my little brother grow up. I realize that not many people get that same experience, and for that I am so grateful!
Once I decided that Troy University was the college for me, I knew I had to find a way to get involved and make new friends. So, I decided to go through recruitment. I was especially nervous to go through this process because I felt like maybe it just wasn't for a girl like me. I was afraid it was going to be the stereotypical college sororities that you see in the movies. I didn't want to have to be fake or try to fit it. I just wanted to be myself. I can say without a doubt that when I walked into Chi Omega, my nerves were at ease. The girls were so authentic and fun. They showed me the values they live by and explained to me all the amazing things Greek life has to offer. I was sold. I found a place where people saw and valued me! When I ran home, I was so excited to see the girls I had met during recruitment! They acted the exact same outside of the house as they did in it! I found a new place to call home, Chi Omega!
I am SO happy that you have decided to go through or are thinking about going through recruitment this fall! Being nervous is normal!!!
My main piece of advice is to just be yourself! You don't want to end up where you feel like you don't fit in! God placed me right where I needed to be. I have found friends that I laugh with, cry with, sing and dance with, and so much more! These are the girls that have my back no matter the situation. These are the girls that help me study. These are the girls that I go to game days with. These are the girls that changed my outlook altogether. I have been to their weddings, showers, graduations, and birthday parties. There is so much you will get to experience not only here at Troy with the girls you meet, but also after your four years come to an end! That's how you know it's true friendship!
As we say, Chi Omega is for a lifetime and it truly is!
Chi Omega women are determined, involved, kind, and passionate! They are determined to make an impact in the community. They are involved in so many organizations on campus. They are the kindest souls you will ever meet. They always make you feel comfortable. They are passionate in all of their endeavors! Everything I ever needed, was just right here in my hometown! God has truly blessed me the last three years! Being a part of Panhellenic has allowed me to grow as a person and as a leader! I know it can do the same for you! In the wise words of the Chi Omega Symphony, remember to speak kindly, act sincerely, choose thoughtfully, and above all else remain WOMANLY ALWAYS! Find the house that gives you the feeling it gave me. Find your home away from home (or like me, at home). Make these four years, yours!
Every single girls that walks in Chi Omega's front door in such a short time is prayed for and loved. I absolutely can not wait to meet you in August!!!
choose once & choose wisely!
love always,

The President
Hey girl!! I’m Mollie Kate Erwin and I have the joy of serving as Chi Omega’s President for the 2023 year! I fell in love with Chi O on the first day of recruitment and never looked back. I knew I was home when I felt like I could take off my shoes and just stay a while. I have never once felt judged for who I am, and I am always supported by my sisters in everything I do. My girls are loving, silly, dependable, generous, thoughtful, and all the best things this world has to offer. They are a blessing in my everyday life and were an answered prayer when I came to college. Graduating high school and preparing to move to Troy, I prayed earnestly for girls who I could always lean on and would lean on me. I prayed for a strong girl group who would have dance parties in the kitchen, study for exams, tailgate at football games, have game nights, just to live life with, and boy did God deliver!!!
To our PNM’s…
Recruitment is such a fun and special time of the year, how amazing that you have decided to be a part of it! It’s a time where you get to make so many new friends, learn about all the different houses, and even learn some new things about yourself. During recruitment, not only do you get to discover the different house’s values, but you also get to realize your own. Throughout the week, do not let the nerves get to you. If you are authentically yourself and confident in who you are and what you believe – everything will happen exactly how it is supposed to! There is a home for everyone in our Panhellenic community, and I am confident you will find yours.
Look for girls who will stand beside you and push you to grow over the four years you are at Troy, and for the rest of your life. Find the sisterhood who is shouting your praises on the mountain tops, but also comforting you in the valley lows. Seek out the true and authentic friendships, and when you find them, hold tight and never let go. Moving away from home can be scary and uncertain, but with your sisters beside you, and the joy of sisterhood always in your heart, you will succeed! One of my favorite quotes that my mama always says to me, and now I share with everyone is “You can do hard things.” While it may seem short and simple it is a constant reminder of my strength! You are capable of tackling life’s difficult challenges and can find joy in those moments. Though this week may be difficult for some, remember to find the joy in it!
We have been preparing to meet you and each girl that walks through the doors of 706 Elm is prayed for. You are loved and cherished, and we cannot wait to get to know all of you!
PC ’23… CHOOSE ONCE, CHOOSE WISELY!!!!💛❤️
XOXO,

Love in Chi O
We share Love in Chi Omega (LICO) that is so special to our sisterhood. This love and connection is what we show to you during recruitment all week long, and especially on Sisterhood and Values day. When we think of LICO, this Bible verse immediately comes to mind. We have found girls within Chi Omega that replace the word “love” in this verse. This is what true friendship and loyalty means to us and we are so grateful to have this joy in Chi Omega!
LICO,
Morgan + MK
